It has been reported that cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide and accounted for 7.6 million deaths (around 13% of all deaths) in 2008. Each year, on February 4th, the World Health Organization supports International Union Against Cancer to promote ways to ease the global burden of cancer. Preventing cancer and raising quality of life for cancer patients are recurring themes.
World Cancer Day is the occasion to unite the world in the fight against the disease through raising awareness, educating the public, and lobbying for change. So get involved and do something this World Cancer Day – because together it is possible.
